About North East Trees
For more than 35 years, North East Trees has worked in Los Angeles’ disinvested urban core, neighborhoods facing the greatest climate risks and the least access to green space. Through urban forestry, habitat restoration, and climate-ready landscape design, we cool streets, improve air quality, restore native ecosystems, and strengthen community resilience where it’s needed most.
We Do More Than Plant Trees
As Los Angeles’ only design-build environmental nonprofit, we do more than plant trees. We partner with communities to design, build, and green spaces, from cool schoolyards and parks in public housing communities to restored neighborhood landscapes, creating visible, lasting environmental and public health benefits.

Our paid workforce programs create career pathways in environmental stewardship, equipping local young adults with hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills that lead to meaningful careers.
